This is a traditional western backcountry hunt with wall tents, horses and mules. The elk herds are healthy and our success rates on bulls & bucks has been high. The Elk hunting is good and the Mule deer on this hunt are not just an add on. The genetics are here in this unit and there have been several bucks in the 170"-200" range taken in this unit. If your primary focus is mule deer, book this hunt for the last week of the season when the mature bucks start cruising for does.

Mountain View Ranch Trophy Mule Deer
The Mule deer hunting on this private ranch is extraordinary and it is hunted exclusively by HCO. We manage the ranch specifically for hunting and offer an extremely limited number of Mule Deer hunts every year. The bucks on this private ranch have seen very little hunting pressure. We hunt using a combination of hiking, ATV's and 4x4 vehicles. The terrain is rugged but accessible by old logging roads. Our success rate on on mature mule deer bucks on this ranch is high. Hells Canyon Trophy Mule Deer
Our Hells Canyon trophy mule deer hunts range from alpine hunting in the early season to hunting the breaks of the Snake and Salmon Rivers in the late season in IDFG unit 18. Hells Canyon and the Salmon River Canyon have some of the best mule deer habitat you will find anywhere in the west. With the high alpine meadows of the Seven Devils Mountains and the steep grass breaklands of the canyons this remote and rugged country allows these bucks to reach their full potential. These muley hunts are six days long. We base these hunts out of our lodge where we can access all of the different areas in this unit. We do occasionally use horses and mules on this hunt to access some of the harder to reach areas. We are only allocated a few of these tags each year and our goal is to harvest large mature Muleys.

Big Canyon Ranch Trophy Mule Deer New this season!
We are very excited about the opportunity to begin hunting deer on this ranch next season! Big Canyon Ranch is in a trophy draw unit that is known for Big mule deer. This unit is primarily made up of private land and these deer see very little hunting pressure. This large ranch provides us access to over 14,000 acres of Private land. This property has seen very Little hunting pressure so we are expecting big things next season! We currently only hold 1 landowner tag for Mule Deer but are expecting to acquire more in the future. Big Canyon also holds a large population of whitetails as well and is in prime country to allow these bucks grow to maturity. Give us a call to inquire about this opportunity!
